Task:    New brief for development of the sign unit, corporate identity and visual identification system.

This is the third version of our brief during the Tagart Studio existence. Previously, we have not paid much attention to the form to describe the terms of reference. However, when practiced business and creative processes begin to think how to make life easier for the client and get better results.

Our Story

The first version of the brief has been developed in the Word document format. It focused more on the content side of the issue, and the usability is poor. Then we mostly alone filled it with the words of the client. Things began to change when there is a need of self-completion of the brief by the client. Word document modification does not give the desired result, and we decided to release a new version.
Last year came the second version. We implemented it as an interactive pdf file with fields to fill. Add more material that is illustrative, simplify the questions and reduce the time it takes to fill it. In general, this option was better than the first, but it had significant flaws. Eighteen months later, we decided to radically rethink the brief.

Customer Focus

Initially, we set out to make a brief with the help of which the customer does not only express their wishes, but also be able to do it faster and more efficiently. First, we break it down into meaningful units and visualize them (in the context of our new style). Second, we minimize the number of fields for entering text - with an emphasis on visualization and interactivity. One tagged pictures tell more than 10 lines of its description. As a result of the changes, the time for its completion has fallen by more than twice. Now you need less than one hour to fill the brief for the development of corporate identity.

Visualization

Easy to work with the brief is primarily related to its interactivity. Answers 90% of questions are a simple click in the field - by setting a tick or by selecting from the list. We visualize some of the concepts that may not understand the customer. In general, all done in the best traditions of communication design.

Infographics

The most difficult task was to show the process of working on a project, so that the client can submit in advance the result of which he received. We decided to paint icons for each of the steps, to build a logical structure and provide comments for each step. The result is a solution that not only track milestones, but also have the opportunity to be involved in the process.

Comments and recommendations

In the most important areas that require clarification, we posted comments. They're kind of invisible helpers, which appear at the right time. For all other non-standard situations, there is a direct relationship with the manager, who is always ready to answer your questions and help!
